Chalmette woman arrested by Louisiana Bureau of Investigation agents for Medicaid Recipient Fraud

On September 23, 2024 Special Agents assigned to the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, the criminal investigative division of the Louisiana Department of Justice, Office of the Attorney General received a complaint from the Louisiana Department of Health in reference to an individual identified as Melissa Araujo allegedly committing Medicaid Recipient Fraud.

On May 6, 2025, 63-year-old Thomas Hoeflinger, of Spruce Street in Coushatta, was arrested in Red River Parish. The arrest followed an investigation conducted by the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation (LBI), the investigative division of the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office
