AG Murrill's Office arrests New Orleans man on multiple charges for communicating with a 14-year-old girl and offering her money to produce child sexual abuse material content for him
Attorney General Liz Murrill's Louisiana Bureau of Investigation agents arrested a man from New Orleans on multiple charges related to him communicating with a 14-year-old female.
Louisiana Bureau of Investigation agents received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited children in reference to child sexual abuse material.
LBI agents conducted a search warrant a residence on St. Anthony Avenue in New Orleans, belonging to 32-year-old Justin Michael Smith.
During a post Miranda interview, Smith advised he actively searched for and viewed child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Smith advised he has been communicating with at 14-year old girl.
During communication Smtih would request the juvenile to produce CSAM and pay the victim for the content.
Smith was arrested on April 17, 2026, on the following charges:
- 8 Counts of 14:81.1 E(5)(a) Child Sexual abuse material under the age of thirteen (Possession)
- 1 Count of 14:81.1 Child Sexual Abuse Material (Production)
- 1 Count of 14:81 Indecent Behavior with Juveniles
- 1 Count of 14:81.3 Computer aided solicitation of a minor
This arrest was the result of the Orleans Metro ICAC Task Force, as the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office, the Kenner Police Department, the New Orleans Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations, and Louisiana State Police Special Victim’s Unit assisted our LBI agents in this case.
Smith was booked into the Orleans Parish Prison.
His bond is unknown.
