Registered sex offender from Louisiana arrested in Tennessee by AG Murrill's Office for Pornography Involving Juveniles
AG Murrill's Louisiana Bureau of Investigation arrested a man in Tennessee on February 26, 2026, for 15 counts of Pornography Involving Juveniles.
36-year-old Joseph Laird is a registered sex offender in Rapides Parish and Beauregard Parish. Laird was identified as a suspect in a case being investigated by the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation after agents received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. An arrest warrant was obtained, and he was subsequently located and arrested on Minerva Drive in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Laird was then extradited back to Rapides Parish for prosecution for the following charges:
- LA R.S. 14:81.1 Pornography Involving Juveniles (Felony) - 15 Counts
This arrest was a result of a joint investigation with the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation Cyber Crime Unit and the Murfreesboro, Tennessee Police Department.
Laird was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center.
His bond has reportedly been set at $753,000.
The investigation continues.
