Two Covington men behind bars for crimes against children after joint investigation led by Attorney General Murrill’s Cyber Crime Unit
Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Cyber Crime Unit has arrested
two individuals for crimes against children.
Randolph Wesley Burge Jr. (W/M; DOB: 12/16/1978) of Covington, was arrested by the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation on April 11, 2024.
Karam Kamel Abdalbaqi (O/M; DOB: 06/12/1998) of Covington, was also arrested by the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation on April 11.
- Burge Jr. was arrested for violating:
L.R.S. – 14:81 – Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile
L.R.S. – 14:81.3 – Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor
L.R.S. - 14:130.1- Obstruction of Justice
- Abdalbaqi was
arrested for violating:
L.R.S. – 14:81 – Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile
L.R.S. – 14:81.3 – Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor
Both arrests were a result of a joint undercover chat operation by Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Cyber Crime Unit, Homeland Security Investigations, St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, Covington Police Department, East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office, Mandeville Police Department, United States Secret Service, and the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office.
A third man was arrested during the operation, but Covington Police handled that case.
Both Burge Jr. and Abdalbaqi were booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail.
