Prosecutors with AG Murrill’s Office secure conviction for Baker man on Second Degree Rape of a child and Child Pornography Charges
Prosecutors with Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Criminal Division secured a conviction for a man from Baker on August 20.
Christopher Morgan pled guilty to Second Degree Rape of a child, Production of Pornography Involving Juveniles, and Possession of Pornography Involving Juveniles.
General Murrill’s Louisiana Bureau of Investigation agents originally arrested Morgan back in January of 2023 after an undercover investigation.
Morgan was sentenced to 40 years at the Department of Corrections without the benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence on the Second Degree Rape charge, 20 years without benefit on the Production of Child Pornography charge, and 10 years without benefit on the Possession of Child Pornography charge. Those sentences will run concurrently, with credit for time served from the date of arrest.
Upon release, Morgan must register as a sex offender for the remainder of his lifetime.
“Not only are we taking them off the streets, we’re locking them away as well. I’d like to thank our investigators and prosecutors for their hard and tireless work on this case. Christopher Morgan is a disturbed and sick individual, and now he likely will spend the rest of his life in prison like he deserves," said Attorney General Liz Murrill.
Assistant Attorneys General Erica McLellan Moore and Barry Milligan prosecuted the case.
