Inmate arrested in connection to Attorney General Murrill’s investigation into escape at Orleans Justice Center

On May 16, 2025, Special Agents assigned to Attorney General Murrill’s Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, the criminal investigative division of the Louisiana Department of Justice, and deputies assigned to the Orleans Parish Criminal Sheriff’s Office Internal Affairs Division initiated an investigation into the escape of ten inmates from the sheriff’s office custody. 

Agents obtained sufficient evidence that Trevon Williams assisted with the 10 inmates escape and secured an arrest warrant for violations of Louisiana law, prohibited acts as defined by:

* L.R.S. 14: (24) 110 Principal to Simple Escape (10 counts)

“As I promised when we initiated our investigation, we will hold absolutely everyone who contributed any role to the prison break in New Orleans accountable. While Trevon Williams was already incarcerated, we will be filing additional charges related to the escape. We will continue our investigation and follow all of the facts to ensure we get accountability," said Attorney General Murrill

Williams was who was already in the Orleans Parish Jail on unrelated charges, was rebooked with the additional charges.
